Workshop: Conservation Assessment Management Plan (CAMP) on Cetaceans of Costa Rica
The CAMP workshop on Cetaceans of Costa Rica was held in San Jose on August 18th and 19th, 2005
Several researchers have worked with cetacean populations that inhabit Costa Rica’s EEZ (Excusive Economic Zone) in the past years. It was necessary to do a workshop to analyze the population status of the 28 species found within this zone, as well as to update distribution maps and suggestions for future research and conservation work. Sixteen specialists representing 11 institutions met during 2 days to analyze this data. The workshop was held at the Simon Bolivar Zoo Park
CBSG, SSC and UICN promote workshops and analysis forums in regard to relative problems of conservation, and find reports from these meetings to be highly useful when shared extensively. The opinions and suggestions expressed in these reports reflect issues discussed and ideas expressed by the participants of these workshops.Report PDF
