Rapid Biological Assessment (RBA) of Burica Coastal Marine Areas

Punta Burica is part of the OSA conservation area (ACOSA) at the Costa Rica-Panama border. Since it is a place of difficult access, there is very little information on the coastal marine area in this location. In January 2008 we initiated the assessment of these areas in Burica using RBA and biodiversity methods with the assistance of the Guaymi COVIRENA organization. Using this information we'll be able to determine the feasibility of Punta Burica as a wildlife refugee based on its biological potential.
